About THRAN
The Tigray Human Rights Advocacy Network — a collaborative platform for rights-based civil society in Tigray.
The Tigray Human Rights Advocacy Network (THRAN) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-commercial organization established to serve as a collaborative platform for rights-based Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Tigray. Its purpose is to facilitate the sharing of information, knowledge, and experiences among member organizations, thereby amplifying their collective voice to advocate for the respect, protection, promotion, and fulfillment of human rights for all individuals both within and outside Tigray.
Our Vision
THRAN envisions a future where human rights of all human beings are fully respected, protected and promoted in and outside Tigray.
Our Mission
THRAN wants to contribute towards establishing a strong human rights regime in Tigray and to advocate for the human rights of all human beings in and outside Tigray.
A strong human rights regime includes:

- • Human rights culture
We do this by engaging in:
- • Human rights monitoring and investigation
- • Human rights research, education and training
- • Human rights advocacy activities

Legal Status
The network was formally registered with the CSOs Registration Agency under the Bureau of Justice of Tigray and obtained its legal status on 30/06/2014 Ethiopian calendar, with the registration number 16/2014.
